What we collect
Project details you enter — trade, answers about the job, project size, optional map outline, ZIP code, and the resulting estimates.
Contact information — name, phone, and optional email when you book an estimate, apply to the contractor network, or claim a job.
Consent records — when you give or decline consent we store the choice, the policy version, and one-way hashes (not the raw values) of your IP address and browser signature, so we can prove what you agreed to.
Work tracking (contractors on active jobs) — job status milestones, receipt photos of material purchases with their extracted line items, and — only while a claimed job is active and the contractor keeps sharing turned on — device location pings. Location is never collected before a job starts or after it completes, and homeowners never see raw location data.
Optional property factors — only if you check the box, we look up public records for the project address: county parcel data (year built, square footage, lot size), the county’s building-outline layer, City of LA building-permit history, terrain, flood and fire-zone data, and the NOAA weather forecast. We deliberately exclude owner identity, assessed values, and neighborhood demographics.
Smart scoping & the DPOC Engine (optional) — if you describe your project, answer the Engine’s follow-up questions, or add a photo, that text and photo are processed by our automated engine (which uses AI services) to pre-fill the wizard, tailor your plan, and render concept images, then discarded — scoping photos and concept images are not stored. We also analyze how you use the estimator (steps viewed, answers changed) to improve your experience. Prices come from our pricing engine using job and market facts only — never from personal characteristics — and every factor is shown in your breakdown.
How we protect it
Contact details are encrypted with AES-256 before they are stored, in a separate restricted vault, and access is purpose-limited. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Contractor license numbers are stored as hashes with only the last four digits visible to staff.
How we use it
To produce your estimate, respond to your booking, coordinate your project with a matched pro, verify contractor credentials, and run the service (security, abuse prevention, debugging). Marketing is strictly opt-in and separate from service contact. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we use no advertising trackers — the only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.
Who touches the data
Service providers that run our infrastructure, bound to process data only for us: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and sign-in), Resend (transactional email), Esri (satellite imagery tiles — your outline itself stays with us), and the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder (address lookup). When a contractor claims your project we share the project details and, once confirmed, the contact information needed to perform the work — nothing more.
Your rights (including CCPA)
California residents may request to know, correct, or delete the personal information we hold, and will never be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Everyone, resident or not, gets the same treatment: call or text (310) 499-6508 and we’ll verify your identity and act within 45 days. Marketing consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting your project.
Retention
Estimates and project records are kept while your project is active and for as long as California contracting and tax law require afterward. Consent records are kept as proof of your choices. Data with no remaining legal or operational purpose is deleted.
Children
Our services are for adults arranging property work; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
Updates appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and each consent you give is tied to the exact policy version in force at that moment.
